Initially the Cesky Terrier was developed to be an all round hunting Terrier, being comfortable with tracking and going to ground. He is today a very good choice as a companion as the Cesky Terrier was bred to be biddable and trainable. Some Cesky Terriers are now starting to compete at agility classes and some also compete at week end Terrier den trials. If introduced to water at an early age, Cesky Terriers also like to swim, or hunt along a riverbed.
