What is the purpose of the book of Zechariah?
The chief purpose of Zechariah (along with Haggai) was to rebuke the people and motivate and encourage them to complete the rebuilding of the temple (Zechariah 4:810; cf. Haggai 12), though Zechariah was clearly interested in spiritual renewal as well.
