What is the purpose of submitting Emergency Plans to the NSWFB?
The purpose of submitting an Emergency Plan to the NSWFB is threefold: • Your draft Emergency Plan may be reviewed by the NSWFB and recommendations may be forwarded in relation to improving your Emergency Plan. • The final Emergency Plan is required to be forwarded to local NSW Fire Brigades (and NSW Rural Fire Service stations if your facility is located in a NSW RFS fire district). The receipt of a facility final Emergency Plan at a station may initiate a familiarisation visit by local fire crews and enable them to develop a Pre-Incident Plan which is tailored for your site. • In the future, information in relation to the specific hazards associated with your site will be recorded electronically and the NSWFB dispatch centre (NSWFB Operational Communications) will be able to initiate an appropriate response to an incident involving your site.
