What is the purpose of signing the Contract for Sale of Artwork?
Artist retains full Copyright that, of course, implies a continuing relationship through control of the right to reproduce the work. However the contract seeks to give the artist a continuing relationship to the physical work itself which is owned by the collector. Our gallery is planning to promote the artist in the United States and Canada after the original works were sold — organize retrospective exhibitions, publish limited edition prints, license artwork, etc. We believe that the contract will help our artist to have a successful career and make your purchase of original artwork a good investment.
