What is the purpose of portfolios?
The purpose of portfolios is to provide students with the opportunity to see how they have progressed as learners during their years at Lakeside Middle school. Students begin to reflect on their strengths as a learner, areas where they need to improve, what constitutes quality work, and how their work reflects the New Jersey Core Standards. When students reach eighth grade, by reflecting on the work in their portfolio, students can begin to set goals for themselves as they move into high school.
