What is the purpose of NCR Ink-Staining?
NCR Ink-Staining is designed to deter ram raiders or gas attackers by warning them that their attacks will be pointless by making it extremely difficult to spend or launder the cash afterwards. NCR Ink-Staining does this by staining all the cash contained within the ATM. As with any crime countermeasure, NCR cannot guarantee that a NCR Ink-Staining-protected ATM will never be attacked, but the deterrent effect of NCR Ink-Staining in Australia and other markets has been significant. What causes NCR Ink-Staining to activate? The NCR Ink-Staining system is uniquely modular in order to provide a long-term solution and protect the initial investment.
