What is the purpose of having SilverTec™ in the garment if I’m wearing it over a sock?
The SilverTec’s™ anti-microbial properties aid in preventing bacterial growth within the garment and the surface with which it is in contact. Therefore, when wearing a sock not containing silver threads many of the benefits of the SilverTec are not directly contributing to the health of the patient’s skin or healing process. The SilverTec still aids in reducing bacterial growth and odor within the garment, though many of our patients have found the Juxt-Fit to be so comfortable that they prefer to wear it directly against the skin. By doing so, many people have reduced the amount of slippage as well.
