What is the purpose of GDP per capita? What differences does GDP per capita show between countries?
GDP can show us only the size of the economy, but not well-being. The number of population, or better labor force, should brought into account. The US econmy is ranked No. 1 in 2008, but in term of per capita, it is ranked more than 10. Our well-being cannot catch up with the countries like Norway, Finland and Denmark or even Australia.
