What is the purpose of fine art painting?
Ther is no purpose to fine art painting. And all the reasons and justifications given are a bunch of bunk so that it seems like it’s something important, so that rich people will pay lots of money on it instead of spending it all on drinking, gambling, women, another sports car, bigger mansion private jet and all those other things they would rather spend their money on. It’s a sop thrown, so that they can justify they support “higher purposes” to man’s existence and all that BS, they peedle about art, to make up for their guilt on spending pure self indulgently.Or its to feed their ego and confirm their point of view in subject matter. Art has always catered to the tastes of the rich and powerful and always will. It about that way more than “higher truths” or other palaver they push. So if you really want to sell your paintings I would suggest you either become famous at something else first (like Slyvester Stallone) or become connected to rich and powerful people, and influential art
