What Is the Purpose of Chlorophyll?

0

“Hi. I’m Brian with Ericksontutoring.blogspot.com. Today we’re going to discuss the purpose of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is the green pigment that makes up plants and chlorophyll in particular is able to capture sunlight and help transfer it into energy through photosynthesis. The word chlorophyll is basically made up of two separate Greek words. The first world khloros means pale green. The second Greek word phyllon is a leaf. So, Chlorophyll is a pale green leaf. So, that’s just one way to remember that chlorophyll is what gives plants their green color and helps them to absorb light for photosynthesis.
