What is the purpose of an area maintenance meter, second meter, or dual meter?
The area maintenance meter is a second meter that is installed which measures water that is used exclusively outside (a sprinkler system or other outside spigots). If the second meter is installed you will be charged only for water use and not for sewer use since the water is not entering a sanitary sewer.
