The Alabama Center for the Book encourages reading, writing, and the study of books in a wide range of ways and venues. It sponsors public programming and disseminates book-, literacy-, and reading-related information. The Alabama Center for the Book also highlights Alabama’s literary culture and heritage and, as an affiliate of the Center for the Book in Library of Congress, promotes national initiatives on books and reading.
