What is the purpose of a Historic District Commission if we have a Planning Commission in place?
A. The Historic District Commission is a group of people selected by the City Commission and trained through programs to administer the affairs of the Historic District. They have all the powers of the Planning Commission with the addition of more. You do not have to ever go to the Planning Commission for anything if you live in the Historic District. You need only apply to the HDC.
