What is the purpose of a conflict management plan?
The purpose of the conflict management plan is design to address the perceived, potential, or actual conflict of interest or commitment issues between you and your supervisor/RIT. The overriding goals of the conflict management plan, as relevant to your situation, is includes (but is not limited) to: • Protect research subjects and students from harm or undue risks associated with conflicts of interest or conflicts of commitment. • Ensure the integrity and independence of protocol design, research conduct, data collection, and interpretation • Ensure appropriate use of Institute and/or sponsor resources • Promote an education of students that encourages critical thinking. Conflict review should recognize the potential influence from outside interests or relationships on the development of students’ careers.
