What is the purpose of a Business Architecture document?
A Business Architecture document aims to provide a clear and unambiguous statement on the business services that are required in either an enterprise or solution and to provide a single reference point for discussions between the business and technology organizations or between different business seeking to collaborate. Its intention therefore is to create a “big picture” that will ensure that any SOA implementation always starts with a clear understanding of why it is being done. It also establishes goals and constraints for the design and behavior of the SOA implementation.
