What is the purpose for the “Preliminary Report – Month Not Closed” item in the heading of each report?
This serves to inform the reader of the report that, since the month isn’t closed in FIS yet, that the numbers could yet change. When the month closes, this heading item no longer appears. A month typically closes around the 5th business day of the following month; a couple days later than that at quarter-end. The exception to this is at fiscal year-end, when June stays open until the last week of August.
