What is the puppy S.T.A.R. program?
The puppy S.T.A.R. program is a new pre-Canine Good Citizen program designed specifically for responsible pet owners with new puppies up to the age of one-year-old. To participate in the program, you must attend a minimum of a six week training class with an AKC approved CGC evaluator. At the end of the training classes, the CGC evaluator will administer the S.T.A.R. test for those owners wishing their dog to be S.T.A.R. evaluated. For more information about the program, please visit the AKC’s website at: http://www.akc.org/starpuppy/. I am now an AKC approved CGC evaluator and will be teaching all future puppy classes using S.T.A.R. approved guidelines and will have the S.T.A.R. test available for those owners wishing to take the test with their puppy on graduation night.
