What is the Published Admission Number (PAN)?
The PAN is the number of pupils admitted to each year in a school. Usually the PAN is the school’s net capacity divided by the number of age groups of children in the school. If we decide on a lower number, we have to publish an explanation. It applies this year to: • Almondbury High School and Language College 206 reduced to 180. The governing body requested the PAN be maintained at 180 for class organisation and management reasons. This has been agreed for the reasons outlined by the school and to assist the local authority in the strategic management of the local supply and demand for high school places. • Earlsheaton Technology College 193 reduced to 180. The governing body expressed concerns about the ability of the school building to accommodate a PAN of more than 180. This lower PAN would assist in the management of class size and organisation. • Moor End Technology College 186 reduced to 180.
