What is the psychology behind flashers (men who expose their genitalia at women)?
It’s been a while since I had psychology, but I think I remember a few things about this. There’s an element of control in it: the flasher is ‘forcing’ the victim to look. This makes sense, because other types of sexual offences are often about power rather than sex itself. I think part of what you’re asking is whether a flasher will go on to other types of sexual assault. I’ve never heard any information about that, so I don’t know. Even if flashing is the most the individual will ever do, it still isn’t ‘harmless’ or something that should be ignored.
