What is the province planning to do to get better drug prices?
We’re committed to developing a plan that is fair to everyone – and most of all, ensures drug prices are better for Nova Scotians who rely on Pharmacare for coverage of their prescription drugs – as well as taxpayers. As part of our efforts to develop a plan that works best for Nova Scotia, we have been monitoring what other provinces are doing, engaging in research and looking at our options. We’re now meeting with community pharmacies, doctors and drug companies to discuss the options and the impact these options could have on Nova Scotians, community pharmacies, drug manufacturers and government. Based on their input and our own research, the province will develop a plan for getting better drug prices.
