WHAT IS THE PROTOCOL FOR GETTING ALLERGY DROPS?
Allergy drops are mixed and dispensed by our trained allergy staff based on your specific allergy testing results. You will be instructed on use when you pick up the drops. They can be stored in the refrigerator and should be used on a daily basis according to a schedule that will be provided to you. Refills will be provided when your current drops are finished. Larger amounts of drops can be provided if you plan on being out of the area for a prolonged time. Follow up visits with your physician will be scheduled every 3-4 months to assess efficacy and to answer any questions you may have. Drops will not be dispensed until they are paid for. Although SLIT has an excellent safety profile, all patients receiving allergy drops will have a standing prescription for an EpiPen which we require you have available wherever you take your drops.
