What is the proper wording for a birthday party invitation?
Come to Janey’s 4th birthday Princess party! Aprill 15th, at our house at 1pm. 12345 Oak street, Mayfield, Minn Luncheon and cake will be served, dress is casual, tiarras will be supplied to all the princesses! Gifts are not expected. I’m not sure I would say that the gifts are optional, I think people would still feel that they are expected. You could cover by buying your daughter some small, inexpensive presents, and one larger one. She is 4. And when people call to ask about it, you can say whatever you like. For instance, please do not spend a fortune, Janey is 4, she loves books, little dolls, color books, whatever she might like.
