During a washing machine installation, the standpipe should be put to the proper height so that you can avoid any problems during future use. When you are installing the washing machine and the standpipe, you need to make sure that you read the owner’s manual to determine the height that the manufacturer intends. As a general rule, most washing machines will recommend putting the standpipe at approximately 39 inches.
