what is the proper proceedure to shorten the tusks on a male pot belly pig?
I have absoutely zero experience with pot bellied pigs. But, to shorten the tusks, use a toe nail clipper, if the tusks will fit in between the blades or a “clipper” of some sort. For newborn baby pigs, we cut the “needle teeth” (which develop into “tusks” on mature animals) with side cutters. The side cutters need to be very sharp so as to “cut” the tooth and not “crush” the tooth.
