What is the proper height to cut my lawn?
To maintain a healthy lawn, it should not be cut less than 2 ½” in spring or summer. Generally, it should be maintained at a minimum of 3″ and cut no less than once a week. If more than the top 1/3 of the grass blade is cut off, it may damage or yellow the grass. Therefore you never want to leave your lawn grow too long before cutting it. It will stress the lawn, as well as leaving a thick layer of thatch in the grass that may prevent oxygen and sunlight to get to the soil and the base of the lawn.
