The Clerk is required to reject filings with an incorrect File Number. So, our system does some preliminary validating and will not allow you to proceed until you have entered a few of the basics correctly. But, here are the guidelines: • The first three characters are the division designation (at this time only PRC, MHC) • The second two characters are the year designation (2009 is shown as 09) • The last 7 characters are the numerical sequence of the case (case numbers contain four digits only so you will need to add three leading zeros to your case number.
