What is the proper dress code for a Yale SOM interview?
It’s usually business attire, especially when they’re coming to campus or if they’re meeting us at an off-site interview. With the alumni interviews, I think it’s more flexible. For example, if one of our alums in Silicon Valley is interviewing someone, they are not likely to be wearing formal business attire, nor is the candidate. But it’s typically business attire for on-campus interviews and off-site interviews with staff. Q: What should an applicant come into an interview expecting? How can he or she best prepare for the 30-minute conversation? A: At a minimum, they’ll want to have read through our materials, the application and catalogue. They should have a good sense of why they want the MBA, how it fits with their career plans, what their experience has been to date, and in particular, why they’re interested in Yale.
