What is the proper dosage of Tylenol to give a 2-month-old after his first baby shots?
The approved dose for Tylenol (acetaminophen) is 80mg every 4 to 6 hours up to 5 doses in 24 hours — given as drops or a suppository. I found with my children that giving a dose before the shot reduced the pain, fever and discomfort. My daughter takes 5mg Abilify daily. She also takes ibuprofen for her teeth due to braces. She was doing well on Abilify until she started taking the ibuprofen. Can these two interact and make Abilify side effects worse? There are no reports of any drug interactions between ibuprofen (Motrin) and Ablilify (aripiprazole). They may be taken together if needed. The ibuprofen should always be taken with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. Any unusual effects or feelings should be reported to the physician.
