What is the proper decorum?
The Commencement ceremony symbolizes the culmination of many years of hard work. It is a time for you, your family and friends to recognize and celebrate your success. We ask your help in making the ceremony a pleasant experience for all by considering the rights and feelings of other participants and guests. The University’s nonalcohol policy for Commencement will be strictly enforced. Graduates and guests will not be permitted to carry alcoholic beverages into the stadium or consume them there. Please note: Alcoholic beverages, balloons, coolers/ice chests, banners, signs, beach balls, silly string, and fireworks are not allowed in Cox Stadium. Smoking is not permitted in or around Cox Stadium. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas on campus. See the Smoking Areas Map for details.
