What is the proper attire for the Ahwahnee dining room?
You could go to the Ahwahnee website for the answer. But since you’re here, “proper attire is kindly requested for dinner.” Yes, I know. That’s the answer you found at the Ahwahnee website. Let me try to be a little more helpful… What that basically means is: no sneakers, no jeans, no shorts, no tank tops. Proper trousers and a collared shirt for men. A dress, skirt, or nice slacks and blouse for women. Honestly, I got away with wearing black jeans and a black turtle neck top (I was obviously not prepared, having no advanced warning of needing “proper attire” for what I thought was going to be a hiking trip). I don’t think they’re all that particular (at least during the months when business is sparse) as long as you at least attempt to look properly attired. Update (25 June 2010): I see someone at the Ahwahnee website has clarified “proper attire.” Go on over and have a look.
