What is the PrompTax Sales and Use Tax eFile system?
This web-based system allows most New York State taxpayers registered in the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance PrompTax Program of Sales and Compensating Use Tax to complete their quarterly filing online for Form ST-810, New York State and Local Quarterly Sales and Use Tax Return for Part-Quarterly Filers. The system offers two methods of filing, one permitting entry of return data directly into the application’s web pages (recommended for taxpayers filing for a limited number of taxing jurisdictions), the other which enables uploading of return data from the filer’s computer (recommended for taxpayers reporting for multiple jurisdictions). Under either method the system performs all calculations and displays the completed return back to the filer before committing electronic filing of the return to the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance.
