What is the programme content of ARMS?
There are two very different ways of approaching ARMS: 1) The traditional route: You must cover 11 units or Key Performance Areas (KPA), each of which covers a specific area management competence in detai. You then have to write a 3,000 word assignment on each one; yes, that’s 30,000 words! Personally, we at Insight think this is not necessary because there is too much overlap in the assignments and there is too much focus on the academic side of the qualification. We think that this amount of work would not be completed by us folks in the Motor Industry. 2) The Insight route: Our aim is for you to deliver commercial gain into your workplace, otherwise there’s no point in completing the qualifcation. We have taken the whole ARMS syllabus and created 6 assignments for you to complete and we expect you to complete them in a period of 2 years – that’s one assignment every 4 months.
