The professional edition is the full-featured, unrestricted version. Numbers of variables and constraints are limited only by available computer resources. Professional edition users may choose among numerous solvers. Several vendors offer packages of the AMPL software with selected solvers. Other solvers may be added at any time, at only the cost of the solver software; you do not need to buy additional AMPL software in order to add a solver.
