What is the process to become an Entry Level Lacey Police Officer?
A. The City conducts a test every year in the Fall. Interested candidates are notified and applications are accepted from August to mid-September. After the written exam, candidates with passing scores will be invited to participate in the Oral Board Examination in November. Percentages of your written and oral examination scores will be combined and will determine your rank on the eligibility list. Successful candidates will be selected from the eligibility list (numerically) on an as needed basis. The list is valid for one year. Final selection is conditional on successfully completing all elements listed in the previous answer. Appointed officers will attend the Washington Sate Criminal Justice Training Commission Police Academy in Burien for five (5) months at the City’s expense. The recruit will receive full pay and benefits while in attendance at the Academy. Q.
