What is the process once a case is referred to mediation?
When a case is referred to the Co-Parenting Mediation Program, the information from the referral form is entered into our database and screened to determine if mediation is appropriate. Most cases will be scheduled for mediation. If the case is scheduled for mediation, notice is mailed to both parents, including a Screening Intake Form and Income Survey, and mediation takes place within 15 days of the referral being made. It is expected that parents will participate in good faith and earnestly try to solve the problems that they are facing.
