What is the process of obtaining a Big Brother or Sister for my Child?
Once a parent has contacted Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters and provided general information, a case manager will call to set up an appointment with the parent or guardian and child. Then, after a Big Sister or Big Brother completes the application and training process, the case manager reviews the profiles of available children and helps match the “Big” with a child who has similar interests. After establishing the relationship, the case manager provides on-going support, help and advise as needed.
Once a parent has contacted Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters and provided general information, an Enrollment & Matching Specialist will call to set up an in-appointment for an in-person interview with the parent or guardian and child. After a child has been formally enrolled into the program, the Enrollment & Matching Specialist team reviews profiles of available Bigs and creates a Big/Little match based on geographic proximity, similar interests, parent/guardian/child/volunteer preferences, child needs, and parental choice. After establishing the relationship, the Match Support Specialist team provide on-going support, help and advise as needed.
