What is the process of destroying records?
When you decide that you want records destroyed, you must state in writing the barcodes/box numbers of all the items that are not needed. Before any records are destroyed, we can, if you wish, send you the boxes or files for you to confirm that these are the correct documents, you then sign a certificate confirming that you wish the documents destroyed, the certificate is signed by the member of our staff who destroyed your documents and the certificate it is sent to you for your records.
