What is the process for renewing my permit?
Follow these steps to minimize problems processing your renewal: • Re-take an authorized firearms training class within one year of your renewal application. • Deliver the application packet, not prior to 90 days of the expiration date of the current permit, in person to the Sheriffs Department in the county where you currently reside, or for out of state permit holders, to any Sheriffs Department in the State of Minnesota. • The packet must contain a completed application, signed and dated, a copy of your certificate and bring in your original to be shown to us, a copy of your license, and fee for the permit.
