After providing required eligibility information, the patient is given a registration number and then prints a Referring Physician Letter to provide to the treating physician. Thereafter, the treating physician goes to the same site and enters the registration number and medical history. After receiving the case history and relevant medical tests and images, Partners Online Specialty Consultations identifies a Partners specialist to review the case and write a second opinion. Second opinions are typically posted within three business days after the complete patient history is received. Second opinions are provided to the referring physician on a secure Internet site.
