What is the process for installing MEE and how long will it take?
Prior to installing MEE you will check the health of your hard drive(s) and backup your data. Instructions will be sent prior to your MEE installation date. This automated processes run overnight. Next day, the owner of the computer MUST be present to assist, it will take approximately 30 minutes to install, configure and verify MEE. The encryption process itself can take approximately two hours (depending on the size of drive and number of drives that need to be encrypted). During encryption the computer may be used for normal activity but you may experience some degraded performance. Note: If the computer is shut down while encryption is still running it will stop and then resume once the machine is turned back on (rebooted).
