What is the process for host school selection?
After the application deadline on February 12, 2010, the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and American Councils will convene an independent panel consisting of U.S. teachers, curriculum designers, and foreign language specialists who will review the hosting applications and determine semi-finalists. The semi-finalists will be interviewed via telephone by program staff throughout the following weeks; the finalists’ selection will be based on the applications and interview results. Schools selected to host an exchange teacher will be notified in April 2010.
