What is the process for Freight Forwarders for becoming a participant in the ACS Initiative?
Freight forwarders are required to take the following steps before they are accepted as participants in the ACS Initiative: • Sign an Air Cargo Security Program Memorandum of Understanding: The MOU is a non-binding document through which those wishing to participate in the ACS Initiative agree to implement an Air Cargo Security Plan and permit Transport Canada to conduct inspections. The document assures participants that they will not be subject to fines and that parties are responsible for their own costs.
