What is the process for fluoridating our public water supply?
A fluoridation program does not happen overnight. Operators must be thoroughly trained and certified. Fluoridated water is tested and monitored frequently in accordance with to DEC guidelines. With the advent of 9/11, our water supply systems are thoroughly protected, have redundant safety measures in place, have safety alert systems that call directly into the local police department, and operators who are on call 24/7.
