What is the process for buying prescription drugs (BCPs) in the Netherlands (for non EU citizens)?
Prescription drugs and laxity in case of marijuana have nothing to do with each other. If anything, the Netherlands are less lax to most drugs than the USA, as they do concentrate on the harder kinds of illegal drugs, not using the available manpower for weed. To buy a prescription drug you have to have a prescription from a recognized source, with that you go to the ‘apotheek’ the store specialized in prescription drugs, and they will sell it to you. But check that the same make, brand name and all, is available before you travel, mostly the medication is available, but from different factories and often slightly different. And do not assume that prescription drugs are cheaper everywhere in Europe, as there are big differences between countries. I have heard that the average price for prescription drugs is 25% higher in Belgium than in the Netherlands, with some prescription drugs being 125% more expensive.
