What is the process for becoming enrolled in ESL classes?
For ESL students who are new to North, you should start by contacting the Admissions and Registration Office to fill out an application. You should then go directly to the Testing Center to take the ESL placement test. If you are a beginner at English, you should come directly to the Advising Center to fill out an application. Students will then be contacted by mail a few weeks before the start of the next quarter and invited to an orientation. At the orientation students will be registered into available classes. These classes are only available to students with permanent resident status in the US. Please note that the ESL classes are in high demand and some students may have to wait an additional quarter before receiving a class. Contact Stephanie Swanson 206-527-7303 for more information.
