The inmate must be granted parole before he is eligible to make an application for transfer to another state. The inmate completes an application with the case manager who forwards it to the Interstate Compact Division for processing. The Interstate Compact Division makes application to the receiving state to arrange the transfer. It can take up to 90 days for the process to be completed.
