What is the procedure to file a monumentation map?
Check with a planchecker in Survey Division, Development Services at 455-2100. As stated before, not all offsite projects require a monumentation map, so research is required in all cases. If no monumentation map is mandatory, then the planchecker will approve/sign off in the Offsite Permit section under the Permit number. If a monumentation map is required, then the surveyor must prepare such a map showing the centerline monuments found and or set; and have it reviewed at no charge in the Survey Division, Mapping Team. The purpose for this review is to ensure that the correct permit number and the correct map number both appear on the proposed survey. Then, the map must be filed at the Recorder’s office under Records of Survey. A copy of the recorded map must be given to the Survey Division of the Mapping Team so the permit for off-sites be approved by a planchecker.
