What is the procedure to appeal my classification?
To appeal, you need to complete an appeal form. The appeal form is located on the HR web site at the following location: http://www.hr.ubc.ca/files/pdf/compensation/CUPE_2950_Appeal_Request_Form.pdf. It is very important that you fully complete the form prior to submitting it. You should indicate which benchmark would be a better match for your job than the benchmark that it was matched to, and the reasons why (e.g., indicate the duties that you perform that you believe match with a higher level benchmark). A copy of your job description should be attached to the appeal form. If a copy of your job description isn’t available, please indicate this on the appeal form.
