What is the procedure on library and AR books?
Your child can check out two library books (as long as they do not have any they have not turned in) on the day their class goes to the library. When they check out books they need to pick out books on their level. We ask that your child bring their library books to school everyday, whether or not they are finished with them. We are asking them to do this so that they have something to read if they finish their work early. If they are not done with their book and want to take it back home, they may do so. Please make sure that your child is reading their AR book at home at least once with an adult. This is to ensure that your child is ready to take the test when and if they decide to do so. Remember that AR does not count toward their reading grade and is not required, but we have seen a high correlation between children who utilize the AR program and reading achievement.
