Although the MID/MIF format is the MapInfo Interchange Format, the import procedure is not direct. In addition and from our experience, not following the import procedure described below may lead to severe positioning errors (10 km) when the atlas data are overlaid with data from other sources defined on a non-spherical datum (NAD83, WGS84, NAD27 …).
